The sixth-ranked Wolves led by just eleven at the break before taking control of the second half. Brady Nissen led all scorers with a career-high 28 points. Eli Ihnen contributed 15 points and Colin Brons tallied 14 points. HLP will put that 12-0 mark on the line for another non-conference showdown next week Monday when they host Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn. Down by just one basket as they returned from the halftime locker room, the Okoboji boys basketball team scored just four points in the third quarter to create a deficit that proved insurmountable in a 58-51 setback at George-Little Rock. The Pioneers had three players reach double digits offensively, led by Keith Oskvig’s 14 points. Weston Burgeson had thirteen points and James Halbur finished with ten points. Okoboji, which was coming off its first win of the season, now sits at 1-11 overall and 1-9 in the Siouxland Conference. Next up is Sioux Center on Friday in Milford. Q102 will have that game live.

Rivals Emmetsburg and Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn locked up Tuesday night for a non-conference doubleheader, with the E-Hawks narrowly sweeping both contests. In the boys game, HMS rallied in the fourth quarter to keep it close, but could never quite get over the hump, giving Emmetsburg a 49-46 win. Michael Wolff paced the E-Hawks with 16 points, while Casey Dorhout dropped in a team-high 15 points, all in the second half, for the Hawks. Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn falls to 4-7 overall and hosts Marcus-Meridan-Cleghorn on Friday. Emmetsburg returns to Lakes Conference play on Friday with a 5-6 record overall and will travel to Cherokee, with coverage available on Y100.
