Wolves Run Roughshod Over Pioneers (Boys Basketball RoundUp)

A ten-to-nothing spurt by Harris-Lake Park in the games opening minutes against Okoboji quickly turned into an 18-point halftime lead, and ultimately a 63-30 victory for the Wolves on Thursday night. HLP outscored the Pioneers by an average of eight-plus points a quarter as they pulled away for the easy W. Brady Nissen paced all scorers with 21 points, including two from distance. Colin Brons registered 17 points off the bench, and Eli Ihnen contributed 15 points. Okoboji’s top scorer was Dalton Syverson with seven, while Dalton Poppema hit two triples for his six points. Okoboji falls to 0-2 to start the season, and will look to rebound with a short turnaround Friday against Geoge-Little Rock. That Siouxland Conference matchup can be heard on Q102. Harris-Lake Park begins their Cornbelt Conference title defense on Tuesday at West Bend-Mallard. The Wolves are 2-0.
