Wolves Rally Late for Win, Indians Drop Close One (Girls Basketball RoundUp)

The Spirit Lake girls basketball team ventured out-of-conference and out-of-state on Saturday night, traveling to Worthington, MN, however, the Indians would bring back a three-point loss, 45-42. Spirit Lake held an eight point advantage at the half, but would score just thirteen second half points. KJ Veldman recorded another double-double with 26 points and thirteen rebounds. Spirit Lake falls to 13-6 on the year.

Down by eleven in the fourth quarter, Harris-Lake Park rallied late to beat Clay Central-Everly 56-52 in a Cornbelt Conference battle. Anna Brandt sparked the surge with eleven fourth quarter points, en route to 29 for the game. Mariah Gath also reached double-digits with 18 as she dropped in three three-pointers.
The Mavericks received 15 points from Emily Jobst and twelve by Tori Campbell. HLP improves to 13-6 overall and 5-5 in league play, while CCE is 6-10 on the year and 5-6 in conference.
