Despite poor shooting by both teams, Harris-Lake Park left Milford Thursday night with a non-conference win over in-county rival Okoboji, defeating the Pioneers 43-30. Eli Ihnen notched nine of his game-high 14 points in the second half. Senior Steven Hibma sparked the Wolves off the bench with seven points after halftime, which head coach Jeff Sohn says was crucial to his team’s win. Okoboji struggled offensively as Bryson McCabe was the lone player in double-digits with ten points, as he connected on three shots from behind the arc. Head coach Ryan Paulsen says the Pioneers’ defense kept them in the game, while turnovers ultimately led to the setback. Okoboji will head to George-Little Rock this evening with a 0-2 record. Harris-Lake Park takes their perfect 2-0 start to Ruthven-Ayrshire for a Cornbelt Conference showdown. That game can be heard live on Q102 and online at ExploreOkoboji.com.
