Wolves, Knights Represented on Cornbelt All-Conference Volleyball Teams

The Cornbelt Conference has announced its All-Conference volleyball teams for 2011, and they feature five Harris-Lake Park Wolves, two Graettinger-Terril Knights, seven NSK/AR Eagles, and one player each from Clay Central-Everly and Ruthven-Ayrshire. Highlighting the 1st team all-conference list is HLP senior Leah Duitsman. The middle hitter led the Wolves in blocks, digs, and aces, while also finishing second in kills. Sophomore Macy Gunderson also earned 1st team accolades after leading the league in assists at well over 500 this fall. Senior Nikki Brown of G-T was tops on her team in kills, digs and blocks, which netted the outside hitter a spot on the 1st team. The rest of the 1st team honors went to CCE junior Emily Jobst, and the NSK/AR trio of Kelsey Gerhart, Cierra Brandt, and Collete Haag.

The conference’s top hitter, sophomore Noreen Morrow, tops the 2nd team all-conference list. The outside hitter tallied 259 kills in 2011. Also grabbing 2nd team honors are Ruthven-Ayrshire senior Alesha Sikora, plus another NSK/AR trio of Madison Bollig, Cheyanne Boland, and Allie Ingalls.
