Okoboji remains undefeated after their latest Siouxland Conference baseball win came in dramatic fashion Friday with a walkoff home run to beat Central Lyon, 2-1. Down to their final out and trailing by a run in the bottom of the seventh, Alex Koepp raced around the bases on a two-run, inside-the-park homer for the come-from-behind victory. Zach Jones struck out ten batters en route to the win on the mound. The Pioneers are now 4-0 and play again Saturday against Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire.

Spirit Lake baseball picked up another Lakes Conference win Friday, beating Cherokee by a 6-0 final. Paul Brown allowed just five hits in a complete game win. Nick Amundson got the scoring started with a two-run homer, his first of the year. The Indians are now 4-1 and play at Spencer on Monday.

In other baseball action, Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn doubled up Gehlen Catholic for an 8-4 win in the War Eagle Conference. Matt Queck struck out a dozen batters as the Hawks improve to 4-1 overall and 3-1 in the league. North Union swept a doubleheader with CWL in the Cornbelt, winning by scores of 10-0 and 12-2.
