Weekend softball action included Emmetsburg hosting their annual tournament. The EHawks improved to 10-1 on the year with an 8-1 win over Alta and a 9-0 decision against Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn. HMS went 1-1 on the weekend with an 18-0 win in three innings over Manson-Northwest Webster. Spencer participated in the LeMars Classic on Saturday. The Tigers dropped a 10-3 contest to Gehlen Catholic, but was able to secure a 10-4 win against Hinton.
The rainy weather did force a cancellation of the KUOO/Q102 Spirit Lake Girls Softball Tournament on Saturday. However, softball will return to the airwaves this evening as the Indians travel to Estherville-Lincoln Central to battle the Midgets. Pregame coverage on Campus Radio begins at approximately 6:45, with the first pitch at 7:00. On Y100, you can hear second-ranked Emmetsburg as they play at Cherokee.
