Walkoff Win for Indians (Baseball RoundUp)

Highlight of Brandon Stoll’s walkoff RBI

It came down to a late at-bat Monday in Spirit Lake, and
pinch hitter Brandon Stoll delivered as the Indians scratched out a 3-2
walkoff victory over visiting MOC-Floyd Valley. The junior drove a fastball
right back up the middle to plate Nick Wetzeler from third in the bottom of the
seventh after the junior advanced twice on passed balls. Dylan Bryce drove in the game’s first two runs on a single
in the fourth, part of a 2-for-2 night with a walk for the senior. Zach Herrig
picks up his first win of the season, allowing two runs on five hits with seven
strikeouts as he went the distance. Zach Landhuis took the loss for the Dutch, who fall to 5-3 overall.
The win propels Spirit
Lake to 5-4 overall with
a Lakes Conference matchup at defending champion LeMars on Wednesday.

Harris-Lake
Park made quick work of
Laurens-Marathon in a 12-2, five-inning victory Tuesday at home. Eli Ihnen
allowed just three hits and two earned runs with five K’s. Offensively, the
Wolves tallied nine hits and nine stolen bases. Connor Gunderson went 3-for-4
with three runs batted in and two runs scored. Kade Heikens tallied a pair of
hits and a pair of runs scored. HLP has a winning record at 3-2 and travels to
Storm Lake St. Mary’s for another non-conference game on Thursday.

In Milford,
the Okoboji Pioneers found themselves in the middle of a hit parade as LeMars
ran away with a 10-1 non-conference victory. The Bulldogs stacked up 14 hits,
while limiting Okoboji to just six base knocks and setting down ten Pioneers
via strikeouts. Dalton Syverson suffered the setback on the hill. The loss
drops Okoboji to 5-2 on the season with a rivalry matchup against Spirit Lake
set for Thursday. We’ll have that game on KUOO.

Elsewhere, Emmetsburg shutout Pocahontas Area/Pomeroy-Palmer
by a 6-0 final, Sioux Central pounded out a 12-2 decision over
Estherville-Lincoln Central, and Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn blanked
Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn, 4-0, in a War Eagle Conference showdown. The loss is
just the second of the season for the Hawks, who play at Hinton on Wednesday.
