The
Oktoberfest Bike Ride at the University of Okoboji will be held this Saturday,
September 27th. Come celebrate the start of fall at the Iowa Great
Lakes. This ride is part of the national Rails to Trails Day and commemorates
the recognition of the Spine Trail as the 5,000th. Mile of rails to
trails nationally.
Arrowwood Resort is headquarters for this event which features a 25 something
mile ride. Register online at www.threesons.com for $25.00
until 5PM Friday. Registration Saturday at Arrowwood is $35.00 from 8AM until
10AM, with the ride starting at 10AM. Proceeds from the ride contribute to the
ongoing success of the Dickinson County Trails. Registration includes a long
sleeve T-shirt, food, and music by Dave Rowley at Minerva’s, and samples of West
O’s Oktoberfest Brew at Alex Danbom Park adjacent to Terrace Park Beach.
Director Ken Hanson says over 200 Riders and one politician are expected.
The
weekend also features golf, tennis, fishing, boating, nature walks, leaf
watching, college football games, and just enjoying the start of the beautiful
fall season at the Iowa Great Lakes. Come and enjoy.
