Two Iowa Lakes Baseball Players Earn All-Region Honors

The Iowa Lakes baseball team had two players selected to the honorable mention All-Region team.

Luis Rodriguez is a sophomore from Framingham, Mass., who played in all 44 games for the Lakers this spring. Rodriguez hit .317 and led the team with 65 total bases and 19 stolen bases.

Jaryd Marks, a sophomore from Cottage Grove, Minn., led the team with 29 RBIs and a .325 batting average. Marks will be attending Bemidji State next fall to play baseball.

“Both are talented and coachable young men who hopefully learned a lot on and off the field while at Iowa Lakes,” said Head Coach Jason Nell. “We look forward to following their future careers.”

The Lakers finished the season with a 25-19 overall record.
