The Spencer boys tennis team finished atop the points list at Thursday’s Class 1A District Meet on their home courts. The Tigers tallied 17 points, besting second place Cherokee by three and gaining entry into the substate dual meet competition. Spirit Lake-Okoboji ended the day in fifth with ten points, while Estherville Lincoln Central grabbed three points for seventh. Singles players Brady Harmelink and Brett Kraus both notched opening round victories for SL-O, but would fall in the second round. That same fate played out for the doubles teams of Wes Bergquist /Brandon Stoll and Nelson Davis/Mitch O’Neill. Spirit Lake-Okoboji finishes the season with a 4-6 record, which is an improvement from the 2009 campaign.
