Okoboji pitcher Dalton Syverson went the distance as the Pioneers beat Emmetsburg, 3-0, in Milford. The junior went seven innings and gave up no runs on only three hits, while striking out four batters. Okoboji was led at the plate by Zach Jones, who smashed his first home run of the season on a solo shot. Keaton Jones also drove in a run on one hit. Emmetsburg’s Joe Jackson tallied two infield singles. The Pioneers are now 3-0 and will host Central Lyon on Friday. Emmetsburg drops to 1-3 and will play at Spencer on Friday.

Harris-Lake Park traveled to Sioux Central on Thursday, but suffered a 12-5 setback. The Rebels used three pitchers, struck out ten batters and allowed two hits. Another attempt at win number one will come Monday with a home doubleheader against Clay Central-Everly. HLP is 0-3.
Other scores from Thursday include Estherville-Lincoln Central winning over Western Christian, 5-3. Spencer defeated Bishop Garrigan, 2-1.
