Storm Lake Ends Spencer Baseball’s Season (Baseball RoundUp)

The Spencer Tigers baseball team had their season come to an end on Friday when they lost to fellow lakes conference member Storm Lake. This was the 3rd game between the two schools this year but it would be all Storm Lake. Storm Lake scored 3 runs in the 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th innings to win 12 – 0 in five innings. Storm Lake was led by Carsen Anderson who was 4 – 4 with 3 RBI’s and by his brother Luke Anderson who was 2 – 4 with 3 RBI’s. Spencer was led by Brandt Illg as he was 2 – 2. The winning pitcher was Carsen Anderson as went 5 innings giving up 0 runs, 4 hits, and striking out 6. Spencer finishes the season at 15 – 13 and says goodbye to 5 seniors. Storm Lake improves to 24 – 8 and advances to a district final Monday night against Sergeant Bluff Luton. They won the first game 2 – 1 over Denison – Schleswig.

Other scores included MOC-FV beating Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley 9 – 8 and Sioux City Bishop Heelan beating Lemars 12 – 0 in 5 innings.
