The State Dual Team Wrestling Tournament got under way Wednesday morning and the Emmetsburg E’hawks were the lone area representitive in Class 1A. In the first match, Emmetsburg lost 36-31 to Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont which put them into the Consaltion Semi’s where they defeated Audubon 43-36. With that win, it gave them a chance to wrestle for 5th place as a team but lost to Sumner Fredericksburg 61-18 and finished 6th at the Dual Team State Tournament. The Emmetsburg team finished with a record of 20-6.
The 1A champ was Alburnett. The 2A champ was Davenport Assumption and the 3A champ was Southeast Polk
The individual wrestling tournament starts Thursday morning at 9 AM on Q 102 with Class 1A
