Spirit Lake girls golf coach Bob Kirchner is receiving recognition for his efforts in 2010. Kirchner has been named the Girls 3A Coach of the Year by the Iowa High School Golf Coaches Association. His Indians finished tied for sixth at the state meet in Ankeny. Meanwhile, Spencer’s Jay Monahan was named Co-Player of the Year in Class 3A for the boys by the coaches association. He shares the honor with Decorah’s Andrew Peter, whom he tied for second place at the state meet.
