Spirit Lake kept pace in the Lakes Conference standings with a 10-2 defeat of Estherville-Lincoln Central. Tate Hanson earned the win for the Indians, who tallied ten hits offensively, three of which were back-to-back-back doubles by Zach Herrig, Mitch Peschon and Paul Brown as part of a four-run sixth inning. Spirit Lake boasts a 20-6 mark overall and 10-3 in league play.
MOC-Floyd Valley swept a Siouxland Conference doubleheader over Okoboji on Friday. The Dutch took game one handily, winning 17-6. In the nightcap, the Pioneers hung tough, but would suffer a 3-1 setback for their eleventh straight loss. Okoboji will take a 7-18 overall record and 4-10 mark in conference into the final week of play.
