Spirit Lake Sweeps Spencer, HLP Gets Revenge (Boys Basketball RoundUp)

Four players scored in double-digits Tuesday night as Spirit Lake earned a season sweep of the Spencer Tigers with a 55-46 road win in the Lakes Conference. Mitch Peschon, Paul Brown and Sawyer Harms all dropped in a dozen points, while reserve Kevin Martinson registered ten. Blake Seier connected on five three-pointers en route to 16 points to pace the Tigers, who fall to 1-7 in league play. The Indians are now 6-7 overall and 4-4 in the conference with a trip to LeMars next on the schedule.

Eli Ihnen’s 23-point night paved the way for Harris-Lake Park to notch yet another Cornbelt Conference victory, taking down Armstrong-Ringsted 50-34 last night. Brady Nissen pitched in with thirteen as the Wolves improve to 10-2 on the season. The Mustangs received 14 points from Spencer Clausen as they fall to 7-3.

Clay Central-Everly notched a road win over Graettinger-Terril 53-46 thanks to 19 points from Caleb Mackey. The Knights got 28 points from Beau Craig in a losing effort.

Okoboji’s struggles continued at home on Tuesday night against George-Little Rock, as the Pioneers fell 70-29 in Siouxland Conference play. A nine-point game turned into a 23-point differential at the half with the Mustangs outscoring Okoboji 24-10. Brian Dubois paced the Pioneers with nine points. Okoboji is now 0-10 in conference play and travels to Emmetsburg on Thursday.
