Out of 20 teams, Spirit Lake Park Track and Field finished 6th at the University of Minnesota Indoor Championships on Saturday behind four 2nd-place finishes in the 4×800, the sprint medley, the 4×400 and Alec Baldwin’s 4 minute, 32.46 second performance in the 1600 meters, an indoor Spirit Lake Park record. Aric Waltz and Kyle Heidebrink EACH broke the school record in the triple jump with Waltz leaping 37 feet 7 inches, then Heidebrink besting that by more than a half foot at 38 feet 1.5 inches. Spirit Lake Park finished the meet with 23 team points, a half point out of fifth place.
