A comment from Spirit Lake-Okoboji Coach Dan Taylor:

“We were
shorthanded for this meet at both Varsity and JV.  We had 7 of our 19 players on the team not
make the trip, including our #4 varsity singles player due to illness.  But the varsity team played extremely well
and earned a great team victory.  The
singles matches were very close at numbers 3-5 especially, but we were able to
pull out those close victories in all three of those positions, as well as 10-5
wins at #1 and #6.  The conditions were
much warmer than we have been used to, and I think the guys like it a little
warmer as opposed to the cold, windy conditions we’ve dealt with up until
today.  On top of winning 5 of the 6
singles matches to wrap up the meet victory before playing doubles, we played
excellent doubles, perhaps the best doubles we’ve played all year.  Andrew and Trystan played their best match of
the season and picked up a big win at #1 doubles.  And our 2&3 doubles teams continued their
winning ways as both teams remain undefeated on the year with solid victories
tonight.  This was a great way to rebound
after dropping the 2nd close meet of the year to Spencer.  Taking the long trip to LeMars and playing
after a loss, as well as having Conference Tournament the next day, is a lot to
think about.  But the guys did a terrific
job just focusing on the match at hand, and taking care of business in the
present.”
