The Spirit Lake-Okoboji girls and boys tennis teams got off to fantastic starts Thursday night, both defeating Lakes Conference rival Estherville-Lincoln Central in their season openers. For the boys, the Indians won by a 9-0 final. In singles play, Brandon Stoll, Wes Bergquist, Brett Kraus, Jordan Richey, Joe Oldson and Trystan Wiedow all won their matches. SL-O also notched three easy victories in doubles play. As for the girls tennis team from Spirit Lake-Okoboji, they, too, won by a 9-0 differential. Aubrey Kolegraff, Alli Gerking, KJ Veldman, Hannah Coenen, Rachel Westergard, and Holly Seemann all earned singles victories. The Indians also swept the doubles matches. Both teams are back at it tonight against Storm Lake.
