Behind the strong arm of Mitch Peschon, the Spirit Lake baseball team dominated Emmetsburg Friday night with a 14-1 win in five innings. The junior recorded 15 total strikeouts, nine of which came consecutively to end the game. Paul Brown and Tyler Dean each enjoyed three RBI nights, while Casey Jones had two runs driven in. The Indians are now 4-1 overall and 1-1 in the Lakes Conference. Emmetsburg drops to 1-6 on the season and 0-2 in league play.
Okoboji earned its second Siouxland Conference win, defeating Central Lyon 9-6 in Milford. Brian Dubois was 2-for-4 with three RBI and a run scored, and Tate Hanson drove in a pair. Zach Jones took the win as Okoboji is now 3-4 overall and 2-1 in conference.
