Spirit Lake Hoops Host Spencer on Senior Night

The Spirit Lake Girls basketball team fell, on the road, to Worthington, 85-78, last night.  KJ Veldman scored 33 points to lead Spirit Lake.  Emma Dau had 12 points and 8 rebounds.  Bailey Loveall had 10 points and 12 rebounds. 

The Indians will get right back at it, tonight, as they host their final regular season game of the season.

 Both the boys and girls teams will look to avenge losses, back on January 11th against Spencer.  The boys fell 55-30, and the girls were beaten 56-55 in overtime.  Here’s Indians’ coach Rick Reinking.

Loenser on senior night 

Seniors, from the Spirit Lake Boys team, playing their final home regular season game, tonight, are Zach Arneson, Paul Brown, and JD Mitchell.  Seniors, on the girls team, are Alissa Christoffer, KJ Veldman, and Kendra Stokke.

 

The Emmetsburg girls fell to West Bend Mallard, last night 42-35, in a game where the E-Hawks scored the only two points of the first quarter.  The first and only basket of the opening quarter, by either team, came after more than six minutes of play. Ashton Connelly scored 14 points to lead Emmetsburg.  West Bend Mallard finishes the regular season at 8-10 and will open up postseason play Thursday at Algona Garrigan 

The West Bend Mallard Boys topped Emmetsburg, 52-49.  Jake Jackson led the E-Hawks with 22 points. 

Emmetsburg wraps up its regular season, tonight, on the road against Cherokee.  You can hear it on Y100, with coverage starting at 6.

 

The Okoboji girls and boys travel to Sibley-Ocheydan, you can hear that on Q102, with coverage underway at 6.

 

The Harris-Lake Park girls wrapped up their regular season, last Friday, as they clinched the Cornbelt Conference title with a win over Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire.  The HLP boys are also conference champs, and they’re on the road, tonight, against Southwestern United.

 

GT/RA is home, tonight, against Clay Central Everly.  Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn hosts South O’Brien.  Estherville-Lincoln Central is on the road tonight against Western Christian.
