Recent Spirit Lake graduate and standout softball player Emily Mercer will show off her skills on the diamonds in Sioux City today. The all-conference catcher has been selected to participate in the Tri State Softball Senior All-Star Classic on the campus of Morningside College. Mercer, who played catcher and drove in more than 100 runs during her five years on the varsity, will play two games as a member of the Red Team. That roster also includes former Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire stars Nikki Brown and Maddie Schany.
