Spirit Lake Girls, Boys Get Weekend Wins

The Spirit
Lake High
School girls basketball team improved to 3-1,
Saturday night, with a 75-53 win over Jackson County Central.

The Boys team, meanwhile, picked up its second straight
win, to open the season, as the Indians beat Valley Lutheran, 53-22, Saturday,
behind 17 points and nine assists from senior point guard Paul Brown.

Loenser on Brown’s leadership

That’s Spirit Lake Coach Nate Loenser, whose team will face
LeMars, Tuesday night, at home.  It’ll be
the conference opener, for both the boys and girls’ teams, and it’s ‘Pack the Gym
Night’ at Spirit Lake High School.

The girls tip-off at 6:15.
The boys get underway around 7:45.
Coverage on KUOO starts at 6 o’clock.

Elsewhere, the Estherville-Lincoln Central boys beat Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire,
55-30, on Saturday, and the Sheldon boys knocked off South O’Brien, 43-39.
