The two biggest schools in Class 2A, a pair of Lakes Conference rivals, squared off in the girls regional quarterfinals on Tuesday night. Spirit Lake and Estherville-Lincoln Central played to an eight-point spread all night long and the Indians avenged a regular season sweep with a playoff win, 40-37 on the road at ELC to move on to the regional semis. No player scored more than six points for Spirit Lake but the Indians forced timely turnovers. Spirit Lake will play Friday against Hull Western Christian at Rock Rapids.
