Seniors Alli Gerking and Aubrey Kolegraff finished their remarkable high school tennis careers in style Friday, finishing fifth in the girls Class 1A state doubles tournament in Waterloo. After going 2-1 on Thursday, Gerking and Kolegraff began Day Two with a 6-1, 6-2 defeat of Dubuque Wahlert’s Katie Meyer and Kathleen Hutchinson in the consolation semifinals. In the consolation championship (5th place match), they again found themselves on the winning side of the net with a 3-6, 6-2, 1(5) victory over Kim Bearbower and Rachel Schaefer from Waterloo Columbus.
