Spirit Lake Boys Cross Country Wins at Emmetsburg Invite

The Spirit Lake Boys Cross Country team is currently ranked
Number 2 in the state, according to the Iowa Track Coaches Association.

says the team features one of the State’s top runners.

Lake’s Mark Norland is
ranked tenth among the state’s individual runners, and Tanner Goetsch is ranked
18^th.

 

As for the Girls, senior Mariah Wills is ranked eighth in
the state.

Both the Spirit
Lake boys and girls teams
ran in an Invitational, yesterday, at Emmetsburg Golf Course.

 

The boys team took first place, the girls team placed
second.  Norland’s time of 17:37 beat
Norris, by one second, and was good for first among the boys.   The boys teams from Emmetsburg and Sibley
Ocheydan placed third and fourth, respectively.

 

The Spirit
Lake girls took second,
behind Bishop Garrigan.

The Indian’s top finishers were Dondi Schmidt and Mariah
Wills, who both ran a 17:04, to place fourth and fifth.

 

The Emmetsburg girls took fourth, and Sibley Ocheydan took
fifth.

 

The Spirit Lake teams are back at it, this afternoon, in an
Invitational at Storm
Lake, which will also
feature Estherville/Lincoln Central and Spencer.
