The Spencer-Spirit Lake Swim Team beat both Algona and Storm Lake,
last night, in a double dual meet at the Spencer YMCA. The team had seven first place finishes, and
six second place finishes, in eleven events.
First place finishers included Taylor Sieperda in both the
50 and 100 freestyle; Cassiday Fox took first in the 100 butterfly; and Lydia
Schooley was the top finisher in the 500 freestyle. Three relay teams also placed first. They were the 200 medley team of Sieperda,
Fox, Jessica Nelson, and Emma Dau; the 200 freestyle team of Dau, Sieperda,
Fox, and Abby Goodenow; and the 400 Freestyle team of Dau, Schooley, Krista
Determan, and Jen Will.
Second Place Finishers were: 200 Freestlye Jen Will;
200 Individual Medley Kylie Schooley; 500 Freestley Kylie Schooley;
100 Backstrokle Jessica Nelson; 100 Breaststroke Cassidy Fox; and the 400 Freestyle
Relay B team of Kaylee Boelter, Kylie Schooley, Abby Goodenow, and
Jessica Nelson.
Up next is a trip to Council Bluffs,
Saturday, where Spencer-Spirit
Lake will be among five
teams competing in a tournament.
