The Spencer boys golf team proved their dominance in area golf Saturday with a 14-shot victory in the Lakes Invitational Tournament at Brooks National Golf Club. Spencer finished the 18-hole event with a team score of 291, while Okoboji came in with a 305 for second. Estherville Lincoln Central took third, LeMars fourth, Emmetsburg fifth and Spirit Lake sixth. The Tigers’ Jay Monahan took medalist honors with a 3-under-par 69. Matt Ohl of Okoboji and Spencer’s Zach Carlson tied for runner up with 72s. In the B Division of the Lakes Invitational, Martin County West shot a 361 to take down Harris-Lake Park and Graettinger-Terril by ten and eleven strokes, respectively. MCW’s Cordell Weber took top honors by shooting a 76, and H-LP’s Nathan Kyle won a playoff to grab the second spot with an 82.
