SLP-O Boys Win in 2OT, Girls One Goal Shy (Soccer RoundUp)




In soccer action Tuesday, the Spirit Lake Park-Okoboji boys set a school record with their seventh consecutive victory, though it did not come easy. At MOC-Floyd Valley, SLP-O and the Dutch entered a second overtime locked in a scoreless tie. The marathon ended when Zubeen Azari took a pass from Drew Brevik and netted the game-winner with 5:20 remaining. The win puts ninth-ranked Spirit Lake Park-Okoboji at 10-1-1 for the season.

Spirit Lake Park-Okoboji hosted MOC-Floyd Valley in a girls contest at the Bedell Y on Tuesday. SLP-O eventually came up one goal short in a 2-1 setback.

The Spencer girls traveled to take on Unity Christian and beat the Knights by a 4-2 margin. The ninth-ranked Tigers are 11-0 this season.
