With one point separating Okoboji and Spirit Lake Park after seven matches in the Dickinson County Duals on Thursday, the seventh-ranked Indians went on to win five of the last seven bouts to earn a 47-30 dual victory over the Pioneers. SLP finished with nine wins overall, including five by fall from undefeated Doug Miner (113), Zach Skopec (120), David Trucksess (152), Nathan Kyle (220), and Cody Norton (285). Okoboji tallied four pin fall victories from Brody Linn (132), Justin Richardson (170), undefeated Tanner Taylor (182), and Jacob Sauter (195). The match of the night was at 160, where the Indians’ Rick Maris outlasted fifth-ranked Zach Jones of Okoboji for an 8-4 decision, making it 19-0 in the team score after four matches. The night also saw Spirit Lake Park senior Dylan Bryce notch his 100th career victory, and it came as a tech fall win over Jordan Hanna at 145 pounds. Both teams will return to action Friday with their respective conference tournaments. Okoboji is at Sioux Center for the Siouxland Conference Tourney, while Spirit Lake Park heads to Spencer to compete in the Lakes Conference Meet.
