The on-court domination by Spirit Lake-Okoboji girls tennis continued Monday with a 9-0 blanking of Storm Lake in a conference dual. Alli Gerking, Aubrey Kolegraff, KJ Veldman, Hannah Coenen, Rachel Westergard, and Holly Seemann all won their singles matches handily, while the Indians also swept the three double matches. The win pushes the SL-O dual record to 8-0 with one more match against Cherokee remaining.
The Indians boys’ team would fall to Storm Lake by a 6-3 margin on Monday. Wes Bergquist, Jordan Richey, and Trystan Wiedow all won their singles matches to earn a split heading into the doubles competition, however, the Tornadoes would go on to sweep all three for the win. Spirit Lake-Okoboji lost two matches on tiebreakers during the dual.
