Despite several close matches, the Spirit Lake-Okoboji boys tennis team was able to earn a resounding 8-1 victory over Lakes Conference rival Spencer on Monday at Speier Park. SL-O swept the singles competition, with wins from Brandon Stoll (def. Michael Gabhart; 0-6, 6-1 (10-5)), Wes Bergquist (def. Jordan Pleuger; 6-4, 6-2), Trystan Wiedow (def. Collin Edwards; 7-6(3), 6-7(3), (10-8)), Connor Rowley (def Bryan Lovan; 6-3, 6-2), Andrew Ites (def. Luke Kaldahl; 6-3, 6-2), and Jackson Walsh (def. Troy Geyer; 6-0, 6-3). In the doubles, the combinations of Wiedow/Rowley (def. Lovan/Kaldahl; 7-5, 6-4) and Ites/Izaak Plunkett (def. Edwards/Geyer; 6-3, 5-7, (12-10)) won for Spirit Lake-Okoboji, which improves to a perfect 8-0 in league play. The Tigers lone win was in the No. 1 doubles, as Gabhart/Pleuger won 6-1, 1-6 (5-10) over Stoll/Bergquist.
