The Okoboji and Spirit Lake Park Boys and Girls track teams
competed in the Sioux City
Relays, Saturday.

Okoboji got a first place finish from the boys’ 4×800 meter
relay team, consisting of Joe Hilsabeck, Taylor Cody, Chris Albright, and Jordan
Hanna. Their time was 8:09.48.
Okoboji’s Tyeson Barnett, Gabriel Goehring, Mark Nielsen,
and Dalton Syverson placed fourth in the 4×200, with a time of 1:34.15.
The Shuttle Hurdle Relay team of Albright, Keaton Jones,
Jason Feather and Syverson placed fourth in 1:04.20.
The Medley Relay team of
Barnett, Goehring, Cody, and Hanna also took fourth, with a time of
3:47.66.
Syverson placed third in the high jump, with a leap of
6-foot-2. He took second in the 110
meter hurdles. His time was 15.87.
The Pioneers’ Jacob Sauter placed third in the shot put,
with a throw of 47’05.5.
The Spirit Lake Park Girls got a second place finish from
the 4×800 meter relay team of Dondi Schmidt, Taylor Sieperda, Emma Dau and
Mariah Wills. Their time was 10:18.39.
Wills took third in the 3000 meter run, with a time of
11:35.95. Schmidt was third in the 1500
meter run. Her time was 5:04.90.
The Distance Medley relay team of Kelsey Delperdang, Kaylee
Boelter, Taylor Sieperda, and Dondi Schmidt placed third in 4:36.81.
The Spirit Lake Park Girls are scheduled to comptete, today,
in an Invitational against North Union at Armstrong-Ringsted High
School.
The Okoboji girls have a meet at Sheldon.
The Spirit Lake Park Boys distance medley relay team of
Austin Folsom, Bryson McCabe, Tyler Peterson, and Will Norris placed second,
with a time of 3:43.78.
The boys got second place finishes from two other relay
teams. The 4X800 team of Will Norris,
Mark Norland, Paul Woizeschke, and Tanner Goetsch finished second in 4:13.49.
The 4×100 relay team of Peterson, Folsom, Cody Poock, and McCabe
was also second with 45.07; that same group finished third in the 4×200, their
time was 1:34.02.
