Sheldon/South O’Brien Downs Okoboji In Double Dual

* After Okoboji knocked off Sioux Center 54-27, Sheldon/South O’Brien got some big bonus points and seven pins over Okoboji in the final dual, coming out on top 51-21 over the Pioneers and getting the overall victory on Thursday night.

* Dustin Schwaller picked up two victories, one on pinfall and another on an 8-6 decision in the final seconds of the 3rd period over Sheldon’s Joe Feekes.

* Sophomore Tanner Taylor wrestled one weight class above his normal 135 and pinned Hunter Fidelke in 1:50 to bolster the Pioneer efforts.

* Okoboji Senior Doug Schwaller did not wrestle after feeling the effects of a neck injury he received in last Saturday’s Emmetsburg invite, putting Shane Vanderpool in at the 215 class. Vanderpool would drop a tough a tough match to Pete Matthews.

* Tate Hanson, Taylor Cody, Tanner Manwarren, Zach Jones, and Brody Linn each had victories while Ryan Clark picked up his first ever varsity win.

* The Pioneers are now 2-3 overall in duals and 2-1 in the Siouxland conference.
