Rough Wednesday for Area Baseball Teams

On the baseball diamond, Spirit Lake amassed just three hits against Storm Lake in a 10-0 setback. Tyler Dean registered two of the hits; however, the Tornadoes smashed four home runs in the win.

Okoboji played host to Sioux Center in Siouxland Conference play, but the Pioneers would fall short, losing 8-6. Alex Koepp was 4 for 4 with two triples, two opposite field base hits, and an RBI. Tate Hanson was the losing pitcher. He lasted just over 4 innings and gave up 7 runs on 6 hits. Brian DuBois pitched in relief and gave up one run on no hits while striking out five. The Pioneers are 3-3 in conference and 5-8 overall.

Harris-Lake Park also found themselves in the losing column last night, dropping a 10-2 affair to Armstrong-Ringsted. Jake Ihnen suffered the loss. Tanner Hively recorded an RBI for the Wolves. And George-Little Rock recorded an 11-2 victory over Sibley-Ocheyedan.
