No Iowa in the NCAA men’s basketball field but the Hawkeyes are more concerned about finding a head coach. After firing Todd Lickliter on Monday, it seems that Providence head coach Keno Davis has emerged as a front-runner for the job, along with Tennessee coach, Bruce Pearl. Pearl has a son, Steven, who is a junior on his Tennessee basketball team. Pearl is also making $2.3 million annually. For those reasons, it seems difficult to envision Pearl leaving the Volunteer program. Keno is the son of former longtime Iowa head coach Dr. Tom Davis who holds the record for most coaching victories in Hawkeyes’ history. Keno just finished his second season with Providence College where his contract runs through 2016, reportedly paying him $1 million annually.
