A Memorial Day tradition came down to the final inning Monday as Spencer and Okoboji played their annual holiday softball matchup in Milford. The Pioneers would have the last laugh, as Anna Seeger broke a tie game with a RBI single to right, plating the final run in a 9-8 walkoff victory, the first of the year for Okoboji. The game began with the Pioneers taking an early 4-0 lead, however, the Tigers battled back against starter Savannah Heithus to assume the lead. Senior Mikkinzie Peschong came in in relief and locked up the Tigers bats, allowing Okoboji to rally for the win. The Pioneers, with a 1-2 record, return to the diamond Tuesday at Harris-Lake Park.
