Pioneers Drop Regular Season Finale (Volleyball RoundUp)

In their final tune-up before the postseason and on Senior Night, the Okoboji volleyball team suffered another setback in the Siouxland Conference, falling to MOC-Floyd Valley three-games-to-none, 25-12, 25-16, 25-22. Senior Taylor Poppema had six kills and an ace for the Pioneers. Mikkinzie Peschong match Poppema with six kills. The Dutch received 14 kills and two aces from freshman Alexis Conaway. Okoboji wraps up the regular season with a 9-17 record and a 1-8 mark in conference play. The Pioneers will now look ahead to next week Tuesday’s opening round regional game with Estherville-Lincoln Central in Milford. We’ll have that game for you on Q102.

One other Siouxland score from Thursday night, Sibley-Ocheyedan dropped a three-game match to seventh-ranked Boyden-Hull, 25-15, 25-11, 25-17.

North of the border, Worthington defeated Fairmont in five games, 25-15, 17-25, 21-25, 25-14, 15-13, Martin County West notched a three-game sweep over New Richland, 25-19, 25-15, 25-21, and Round Lake-Brewster fell in three sets to Southwest Minnesota Christian, 25-18, 25-18, 25-9.
