Owens Leads SL Golf to Triangular Win, HLP Boys Dominate NSK/AR (High School Golf RoundUp)

The girls of Spirit Lake garnered another golf win Tuesday, this time defeating NSK/AR and Harris-Lake Park in a triangular at Okoboji View Golf Course. The Indians posted a 182, followed by NSK/AR with a 222, and HLP at 238. Maureen Owens was again the meet medalist with a round of 40, and Leah Hilpipre was runner-up at 44. Spirit Lake also got a 47 from Emily Ayers and a 51 by Whitney Berkland.

The Harris-Lake Park boys defeated NSK/AR in the Cornbelt Conference dual on Tuesday, firing a team total of 177. NSK/AR finished at 201. Nathan Kyle was the top golfer with a 40 and Austin Jacobsen had a 43. HLP also received a 44 from Jake Ihnen, a 50 from Eli Ihnen, and Connor Gunderson carded a 52.

Also in the Cornbelt, Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire golfed their way to a dual sweep of Clay Central-Everly. G-T/R-A won the boys competition at Spencer Municipal by a 212-218 final. Blaze Alesch was the meet medalist with a 39. The girls of G-T/R-A won by 41 strokes, 229-270. Kayla Dyer and Mackenzie Fay tied at 54 for medalist honors.
