Okoboji, HMS Swept in Duals (Wrestling RoundUp)

Okoboji wrestling suffered two non-conference dual losses on Tuesday as part of a double dual with Algona at Estherville-Lincoln Central. The Pioneers dropped a 41-22 match against the Bulldogs, and a 41-30 loss to the Midgets. Overall, Okoboji posted a 4-12 mark in matches at 138 pounds or heavier. Tanner Taylor notched two pin fall victories, wrestling at both 182 and 195 pounds. Zach Jones (160) and Brody Linn (132) also went 2-0 on the night and each registered a win by fall. Ryan Bolster (106) and Cameron Arnold (126) both won by fall in their matches with ELC. The Midgets, who lost their team dual with Algona by a 42-27 margin, were led by three wrestlers securing a pair of pin fall wins each, Cole Budach (113), Oscar Ramirez (120) and Gable Bonner (285).

Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn found itself pinned to the mat in quadrangular at Sergeant Bluff-Luton, an event that also featured conference foe Akron-Westfield and Westwood. The Hawks finished 0-3 in the team duals, though they were within a match of getting the W in a 42-36 setback to Westwood and a 40-36 contest against Akron-Westfield. The hometown Warriors shutout HMS, winning 80-0. Brett Flynn posted the best night at 160 pounds, going 2-1 with two pins. Dakota Drenth (145) also notched a pair of victories, with one by fall. Nick Drenth (126) also secured a win by fall. The Hawks forfeited a dozen matches in the weights between 170 and 220 pounds.
