Okoboji freshman Alex Mankle remains in the hunt after day
one of competition at the Girls Class 2A State Golf Meet in Adel, Iowa.
Mankle shot an opening round total of 91, placing her in a tie for twelfth with
three other golfers. At 19-under par, the freshman is 16 strokes off the pace.
The 36-hole, stroke play event continues Wednesday at River Valley Golf Course.
