The Boys Cross Country teams from both Okoboji and Spirit Lake High Schools will be in Fort Dodge, tomorrow afternoon, for the State
Cross Country meet, along with the Spirit Lake Girls team, and Clare Eckard, a
junior, from the Pioneer Girls.
The Okoboji boys qualified with a first place team finish,
on Monday, at the district meet in Holstein. The Spirit Lake
boys’ team took second behind the Pioneers.
Spirit Lake Coach Tim Heinitz on district results
That’s Spirit Lake Coach Tim Heinitz,
whose girls’ team placed third, overall, on Monday. Dondi Schmidt and Mariah Wills both qualified,
individually, for the Lady Indians.
Eckard is an individual qualifier from Okoboji.
Will Norris and Tanner Goetsch are both individual
qualifiers for the Spirit Lake Boys. Norris
was state runner-up, last year, and finished tenth and fourth in his first two
state meets.
