Okoboji Boys CC Takes Sioux Central Title (Cross Country RoundUp)

For a second straight fall, the Okoboji boys cross country team is champions of the Sioux Central Invitational. The Pioneers took the team title on Thursday with 45 points, outpacing second-place Alta-Aurelia by 41. South O’Brien was third with 104. Joe Hilsabeck notched a second-place run individually with a time of 17:46. Ryan Chinlund placed eighth at 18:22 and Taylor Cody cracked the top-ten at 18:26. Okoboji had three others in the top-20, including Colby Kraninger (18:33), Chris Albright (18:47), and Zach Jones (18:55).

The girls race ended with the hometown Rebels atop the point standings at 48, followed by Sheldon (62), and Okoboji came in third with 87 points. Clare Eckard took the bronze with a third-place time of 16:43 and Olivia Albright was right on her heels at 17:19, good for fourth-place overall.
