Comments From Head Coach John Adams
Super proud of Montana for reaching that awesome career milestone of 500 rebounds; talk about a kid who has just put her head down, worked hard and has done whatever is asked of her. I was proud of how the girls came out focused, especially on the defensive end of the court. Lynnae hit some nice shots for us, and Carly did a great job of controlling our offense. Makenna Helmers and Olivia Lorenzen did a phenomenal job of being disruptive on the defensive end of the court and all 14 kids did a great job tonight.
Boys Game

The Mustangs fired back throughout the second quarter to take a 26-24 lead going into halftime. The Pioneers answered with a 44-37 lead going into the final quarter and ended the game with a 57-44 victory.
The Pioneers were led by Lucas Lorenzen’s 27 points. The Mustangs were led by Isaiah Johnson’s 15 points. Drew Denekas contributed 13.
Comments From Head Coach Ryan Stumbo
We got out to a great start but settled too much offensively throughout the game and had too many moments where we lost focus defensively in the second quarter. Give GLR credit for taking advantage of that and competing hard. We had a great spark off of the bench from Josh Leman tonight who we thought was a difference maker in the game. Lucas Lorenzen was also obviously a huge deal for us, helping to settle us in throughout the second half and playing crucial defense throughout the night protecting the paint when we needed stops and boards.
With his performance tonight, Lucas Lorenzen has now become the all-time leading scorer in the history of Okoboij Boys Basketball. It is another incredible accomplishment for an outstanding player who has worked so hard and given so much throughout his career. We are so proud of Lucas and this team and look forward to building on all the positives moving forward with this group.
