Comments From Okoboji Girls Coach John Adams
We were really proud of how the girls competed tonight after struggling on Friday night. We came out with great energy and had a fantastic first quarter. The start of that third quarter was the difference of the game as we just turned it over too much and gave them some easy buckets to build their lead. Our girls kept competing and had a great chance to win it in the fourth quarter. While we wanted to win, we are so proud of how hard our kids played and the character that they showed. Montana had another fantastic game in the paint, Ella was great with some big three-pointers and Ava really took the ball to the rack strong, especially in the fourth quarter. We’ll continue to improve as the season goes and are very excited to get back on the court on Friday night at home.

The Pioneers were able to build on the lead in the third quarter with a 68-47 score going into the fourth. The game ended with an 82-59 final in favor of Okoboji. Okoboji was led by Lucas Lorenzen’s 40 points. Kaleb Peschong contributed 12, Austin Harms 9, and Aidan Dahms 8. Sibley-Ocheyedan was led by Keagan Van Westen’s 15 points. Comments From Okoboji Boys Coach Ryan Stumbo
We were proud of how we competed tonight particularly our focus coming out of halftime to build on our lead. Lucas Lorenzen was an absolute difference maker once again and did a fantastic job getting to the free throw line tonight. He has also been a crucial defender for us and worked extremely hard to make things difficult on that end of the floor as well. We got great contributions from Kaleb Peschong on both ends of the floor, and Austin Harms, Aidan Dahms, and Caden Jostand were all good for us tonight as well. We did a nice job collectively of giving ourselves second chances on the glass and need to work to maintain the aggressiveness we have shown these past two games moving forward.
