NW Iowa Olympians Put Best Foot Forward in London

Competing in his third Olympic Games, Sheldon-native A.G. Kruger once again
fell short of the medal stand. Kruger opened the 2012 games with a qualifying
distance of 72.13 meters in the hammer throw. That toss was good for twelfth in
Group B, but put Kruger 25th overall and out of the Olympic finals. The finishi,
however, is his best in an Olympic Games.

Ft. Dodge-native and former Iowa State distance runner Lisa Uhl ran a
personal best time of 31:12.80 in the women’s 10,000-meter race during Day Oneof
the track and field competitions in London. Uhl placed thirteenth, finishing
right behind two fellow Americans and within 52-seconds of the gold medal
winner.
