Last night in Hull, Iowa, top-Ranked Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley
got two rushing touchdowns from quarterback Brandt Van Roekel, who gained 160
yards on 19 carries, as he led the Nighthawks past the #2 Spirit Lake Indians,
25-10.
Spirit Lake led 10-7 in the final minute of the first half, before Van
Roekel ran 87 yards, down the right sideline, for a touchdown, with just 17
seconds before halftime, to give his team the lead for good.
The Indians are now 4-1, and will face East Sac County, on the road, next Friday.
Harris-Lake Park was home against Marcus Meriden Cleghorn, and the Eagles
beat the Wolves, in an overtime barnburner, 72-64. Here’s HLP Coach Lane

Emmetsburg beat Manson Northwest Webster, 43-21. The E-Hawks scored first with 5:31 in the first quartertr.
It was a 35 yard TD run by Andrew Wellik. Manson answered on the first
next possession. It was a 64 yard pass from Alex Bush to Hudson Spedding
and we were tied at 7 after the 1st qtr. It was 17 – 14 at
half in favor of Emmetsburg. Emmetsburg dominated the 2nd half
scoring 26 points to 7. Manson did not score until :39 left to go in the
game.
Emmetsburg unofficially had 563 yards of offense and was led
by Andrew Wellik with 346 yards rushing and 3 touchdowns.
Emmetsburg is now 4 – 1 and will host Hull Western Christian
Friday for homecoming
