The Spirit Lake Park Boys and Girls Track Teams competed,
yesterday, in the Lakes Conference Indoor Invitational at Buena Vista University.
Senior Will Norris finished first, and set new Lakes
Conference Indoor Records, in both the 800 and 1600 meter runs. His time in the 800 was 2:01.55, and his time
in the 1600 was 4:38.2.
Those two records, combined with the fact that he was on a
record-setting 4×800 relay team at an indoor meet last year, make Norris the
most decorated indoor athlete in Lakes Conference history.
Senior Mariah Wills placed first in the 1500 meter run, with
a time of 2:39.21.
The Girls Team also got a first place finish from the 4X800
relay team of Dondi Schmidt, Taylor Sieperda, Bailey Heikens, and Mikey
Heikens, whose time was 10:22.61.
