Mustangs Run Past Wolverines, Will Return to Dome (Playoff Football RoundUp)

Armstrong-Ringsted earned a fifth straight trip to the 8-man football state semifinals in the UNI-Dome with a 22-12 win over district rival West Bend-Mallard on Friday in the quarterfinals. The Mustangs, who had defeated the Wolverines in the regular season, scored early in the second quarter on a Dakota Odermann run. A-R tacked on another score right before the half on Tyler Fedderson’s only completion of the day, a 24-yarder to Evan Hagebock, making it 15-0 at the break. WB-M would not score until the end of the third quarter, after the Mustangs already led 22-0. Fedderson finished with 119 yards on the ground and one score, while Odermann ran for another 97 yards and Jacob Braddock for 88 yards. The two-time defending champions will put their state leading 35-game winning streak on the line Thursday, November 10 against Fremont-Mills, Tabor, who defeated East Mills 58-22 in the quarterfinals.
